Welcome
The Green Head Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade welcomes you to our Brigade Web Site. The aim of this site is to communicate our activities to the Community we serve and to our members. The site is simple and without the bells and whistles of those professional web sites, but if it serves a purpose we can build on it for the better. This site has been checked for browser compatibility and it checks out in both Fire Fox and Internet Explorer. There are still some issues with IE so the site has been optimised for Fire Fox which is the preferred browser for this site. You are welcome to browse around, and see what it is we are doing at the Green Head Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade - Enjoy.
Mobile Phone Aerials Fitted to Appliances
Following on from the Marchagee Track incident in December, a significant issue was the lack of mobile phone signal on the fire ground. As an aid to this issue, external aerials have now been fitted to both the Light Tanker and the 3.4. The aerials purchased are RFI CD2195 High Gain 6.5dbi with a Male FME Connector click here for technical specification. The aerials have been mounted on the Targa Bar on the Light Tanker and on the Bull Bar on the 3.4 with the connection point being behind the seats of both vehicles. Please Note a patch lead will be required to connect your phone to the aerial, individuals will be required to supply their own patch lead to suit their specific mobile phones. Patch leads cost around $15.00 and can be obtained from Telstra or the many online stores available.
