Training forms a significant part of the volunteers time in a Brigade. The requirement for firefighters to be proficient and capable to a standard, is paramount. The table below outlines the training required and volunteer numbers for our brigade, our aim is to move towards these targets but clearly with the knowledge that we are, a "Volunteer Organisation".

FESA run all courses (Course Calendar Jan - Jun 2010) (Course Calendar Jul - Dec 2010) at locations through out the Mid West. FESA - Mid West and Gascoyne are located in Geraldton with most courses are facilitated through the Geraldton Office. FESA funds all training. Where courses are spread over two or three days Accommodation and Meal costs are covered as part of the training program. Travel expenses are claimed on a Kilometer basis and are the responsibility of the Shire.

We play with Fire and in the untrained hands it can be deadly. Training is essential to everyone's well being. The Brigade urges our volunteers to take advantage of the training offered.
